I do not know what has happened to the quality of Black and Decker Products, but in my experience it has taken a drastic downturn. Watch this Black and Decker Spacemaker Coffeemaker leak all over the countertop as it makes just six cups of coffee. BTW – this coffeemaker began leaking about 90 days after we bought it. The design has been SLIGHTLY changed (plastic tabs are larger, so you will not need the masking tape to keep it closed quite as quickly) – but the leakiness was not affected by the design change. Previously we had one of the original design Spacemakers which was WONDERFUL. Decided to buy a Cuisinart to replace this leaker and are SOOOOOOO HAPPY with the coffee it makes, the lack of water all over the countertop and the lack of noise and steam.
